It is Saturday, one of my favorite days to post. How is everyone’s Saturday/ evening going? What is everyone cooking?
We all know that tomatoes are sweet, juicy and very delicious. They are great in salads and good to cook with. Does everyone know they are extremely good for you? Sure you do! (Lol) Well if you don’t, keep reading and you will find out what they provide.
Tomatoes have vitamin c, and they are fat free. Yes I said fat free. All you people out there who are watching your figures, eat tomatoes. 🙂 What is even more interesting is that just one serving of eating tomatoes, which is about 1 cup or 150 grams, is a great source of Vitamins A, C, K, folate, and potassium. Pheww, all those vitamins in one tomato. The list isn’t done, they also provide, thiamin, niacin, vitamin B6, magnesium, phosphorous and copper, and these are all necessary for good health.
On top of all of that, one serving of tomatoes is a great source of fiber. In general just eating plenty of fruits and vegetables will protect against high blood pressure, high cholesterol, strokes and heart disease.
This is the best part for my friends who want their skin to look amazing. Tomatoes offer beta carotene, also this is found in carrots and sweet potatoes. Beta carotene helps protect skin against sun damage.
I saved the best info for last. Tomatoes are a natural cancer fighter!! Lycopene can reduce the risk against several cancers, which one I know some of you have heard before, Prostate cancer. The other cancers including, cervical, mouth, pharynx, throat, esophagus, colon, and much more.
