I think it must be a sweets kind of a day for Kouzounas Kitchen. :)

I was on Google today, and I wanted to search Greek candies and remembered these lovely candies I had in Greece. They are called, Pastelli Androu- (Walnut & honey candy from Andros.)

I wanted to share this recipe with you and it is a very easy recipe. – Cheers

Pastelli Androu Recipe-

Ingredients:

2 cups of coarsely chopped walnuts

1 cup of toasted bread crumbs

Orange blossom water

Sesame seeds

1/3 cup of sugar

1/3 cup of fresh honey

Directions:

In a medium size bowl, combine the walnuts and bread crumbs. Next sprinkle the bottom of a 10 inch pan, with orange blossom water and enough sesame seeds to cover the entire bottom surface.

In a medium saucepan, bring the sugar and honey to a boil over medium high heat and cook to what we like to call the “hardball stage.” (250- 256 degrees on a candy thermometer.) Remove the pan from the heat and mix in the walnut mixture and stirring pretty fast with a wooden spoon.

Next spread the mixture into a prepared pan with a spatula dipped in orange blossom water. Place a bit more sesame seeds on top and let cool.

Store covered in a cool and dry place.

Kali Orexi, Bon Apetite. 🙂
