Hello beautiful people! I can’t tell you how happy I am to be here sharing another new recipe with you. This recipe is actually from my first published cookbook Back To My Roots.

If you love sweet rolls, this recipe is for you! Perfect for Greek Easter which is this Sunday. Who is celebrating with us this Sunday?? I am going to dye my Easter eggs tomorrow, and we decided to go the natural route this time. (Organic red onions for our dye.) Who has tried this method?

 

Sweet Rolls – Γλυκά Ρολά

Yield: 12 Rolls

Ingredients:
-1/2 cup water
-1/2 cup milk
-1 egg
-1/3 cup butter, softened
-1/3 cup honey
-1 tsp Himalayan salt
-3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
-1 package active dry yeast
-1/4 cup butter, softened
Method:

 

1. Place water & milk in a microwave for about a minute and a half. Pour liquid into a mixer, add the sugar and stir to dissolve.
2. Add the yeast into the sugar mixture and make sure you whisk continuously until it foams and bubbles (about ten minutes).
3. Using your paddle attachment, mix on low-speed and then add the salt, butter, and egg. Once you have mixed all your ingredients, add your flour in slowly. Change to the dough hook and knead for about 7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth.
4. Remove dough from the bowl and lightly flour a working surface. Cut the ball of dough into quarters and then roll each piece of dough into a ball. Place in a baking
pan. Cover your baking pan with plastic wrap and let the dough sit for about one hour in a warm place. You want the rolls to rise. Then turn your oven on 400.F degrees and brush each ball of dough with butter. Bake the rolls for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
