Tiropita Strifti Recipe & Video

I am so excited to share this recipe with you all! One of my all-time favorite traditional cheese pie recipes.

Strifti meaning in a spiral shape, and made with my homemade phyllo dough recipe which you can find here.   I remember my yiayia would make this as well as spanakopita which was super delicious. Here is to you yiayia and I love you!!

Tiropita Strifti (Greek Phyllo Feta Pie)

Ingredients:

  • 1 phyllo dough recipe
  • 1 1/2 cup crumbled feta
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • 1 tsp of dried mint
  • Salt & Pepper for taste

Method:

  1. Mix the feta, cream cheese, egg, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  2. Prepare the phyllo by gathering one sheet, adding the filling at one end, and folding the phyllo over the cheese filling. (See video for example.)
  3. As you roll the phyllo over the filling, make sure to press the phyllo down gently, so the filling won’t leek out. Be sure to brush each roll with olive oil, this is what helps the phyllo become flakey and delicious. Once you roll the phyllo up, you will roll it into a spiral and then place it on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees until golden brown.
