Kouzounas Kitchen’s Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
Calling all you chocolate chip cookie lovers out there!! Where you at? I know you guys are out there somewhere, and I need to grab your attention for a moment.Chocolate chip cookies seem like they are not really highly spoken of anymore. I feel like it’s the 1 cookie everyone knows about, but it lost its popularity. Anyway, I am bringing them back yall. I love chocolate chip cookies but I am picky. They must be crispy on the outside but have a soft chewy center.True story Nestor took cookies to Costco today and one of his coworkers said the best chocolate chip cookies ever. Oh and my family already had a dozen and a half, so I think this recipe is pretty dang good. What is the key ingredient? Molasses people! Molasses gives a rich flavor and a lovely chewy texture.

Servings: 20-25
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of butter room temperature ( 1 cube of butter)
- 1 3/4 cup of organic sugar + 3 tablespoons of molasses
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla flavoring
- 2 eggs room temperature
- 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour + 1/4 cup
- 1 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 cup of chocolate chips plus reserve extra for baking
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
- Make sure to have the sugar and molasses mixed together thoroughly.
- In a bowl of a mixer, mix the butter and sugar until creamy. About 4 minutes. Add the vanilla, eggs, and salt and mix until combined. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the mixer to make sure all ingredients are combined.
- While the mixer is running on low, add the flour in slowly. Then fold in the chocolate chips. (You can add more or less chocolate chips.)
- Now take about 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons of dough and roll in your hand. Then place directly on a baking sheet. Make sure to leave some space between each cookie, as they will expand in the oven.
- Once the cookies are on the baking sheet, top cookies off with a few chocolate chips in the center. Pat down lightly to place chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes until golden brown. If you want soft cookies, bake for less time. If you want crispier cookies bake an additional few minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cook on wire rack.
