Greek Yogurt Is Taking Over!

Greek yogurt is taking over the world! Every time I go to the grocery store, I walk down the yogurt isle, and see Greek, Greek, Greek, and more Greek yogurt. My boyfriend moved to California about two years ago, and he was surprised by how many yogurt companies promote “Greek.”

  1. Hi – I didn’t know about the calcium absorption and fat so have learned something new today! My Canadian favorite is 0% vanilla flavoured by Liberte. I’ve tried a lot of others and nothing matches it…but after reading this, maybe will try the 2%.

  2. I love Greek yogurt, but wouldn’t go with the 0%. I think yogurt should have some fat in it. Makes it taste better and also helps with the calcium absorption.
One of the best desserts I’ve discovered was when I’ve visited Crete. We were given fresh thick yogurt, topped with local honey and toasted pine nuts. It was just great!

Thank you for your great feedback! Ohh I use to live in Greece, and can remember the fresh yogurt & honey. That is a common dessert they serve you after dinner. 🙂 I miss the fresh ingredients and quality of yogurt in Greece. Thanks for bringing back these memories.
