My family grows fresh lavender and we produce the oil and products. I wanted to blog about this because lavender is a very well-known culinary ingredient these days. Friends of the Earth Lavender is a family-owned and operated business in Pollock Pines, California. The venture began with Yiannis, a landscape contractor with 45 years of experience, who dreamed of cultivating organic lavender reminiscent of his youth in Sparta, Greece. In 1998, he planted 6,000 lavender plants, marking the realization of this vision.

The family actively participates in the business:

– Krystina, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef with experience in Greece, contributes her culinary expertise, recognizing lavender’s value in healing and cooking. She also runs her own business, she is a self-published author, culinary travel guide & owner of Travel Mazi Mou, and has run her food blog Kouzounas Kitchen since 2013.

– Angela, holding a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a bachelor’s in Business Marketing, brings her marketing skills and emphasizes transparency and customer feedback. As a mother, she values organic products and overall well-being.

Friends of the Earth Lavender offers a range of products crafted from their organically grown lavender, including essential oils, body care items, and home fragrances. They pride themselves on creating soothing, natural products that promote wellness, without additives or fillers.
