Creamy Avocado Dip Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
- ½ cup Greek yogurt (plain, full-fat, or 2%)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (or lemon juice)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro or parsley (optional)
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin (optional for a hint of warmth)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- A pinch of chili flakes (for a kick of spice)
Optional Add-ins:
- ½ small jalapeno, finely chopped (for a spicy kick)
- 1 small tomato, finely diced (for texture)
Method:
- In a medium bowl, mash the avocados with a fork until smooth (or leave it slightly chunky for texture).
- Add Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lime juice, olive oil, and any optional ingredients. Stir well to combine
- Add salt, pepper, and cumin (if using). Adjust to taste.
- For a smoother texture, use a food processor or blender to blend until creamy.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with a drizzle of olive oil, fresh cilantro, or a sprinkle of paprika.
- Serve immediately with pita chips, fresh veggies, or as a spread for wraps and sandwiches.
Tips:
- Store leftovers in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface of the dip to prevent browning. Consume within 1-2 days.
- Use Greek yogurt for added protein and creaminess, but you can substitute with sour cream if needed.
