Οχι Day, Name Day Celebration, and Breaking Bad Cupcakes!

Today is Oxi Day!!!! Oxi Day is a day to commemorate the rejection by Greek Prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas (in power from August 4, 1936, until January 29, 1941) of the ultimatum made by Italian dictator Benito Mussolini on October 28, 1940.

This day is celebrated all over Greece, and Greek communities around the world. Please click on the link below for more information on today’s celebration.

Yesterday my boyfriend and I celebrated his Name Day!! On October 27th, we celebrated the name day of Nestoras. A name day is practically like a birthday celebration. A name day, is a celebration of a Saint. Χρόνια Πολλά (pronounced HRON-yah poh-LAH, , means “many happy years”.

While we were celebrating I decided to make Breaking Bad Cupcakes, For those of you that have no idea what Breaking Bad is, click on this link.

For me it is by far the best series on TV ever. I won’t spoil it for the ones who haven’t watched it, but you should get into Breaking Bad.

I found a cupcake recipe and how to make Breaking Bad cupcakes on this website.

I decided to incorporate Walter White’s face on some of the cupcakes, and surround him in Meth crystals. ( That was the hardest part.) Then I made little cut outs of the periodic table elements and placed them onto fondant, and colored the fondant green. I used white icing to place the BR, & BA onto the little cut outs. I just made a little error on them, you will notice in the pictures below. The letters need to be switched around. My boyfriend was really excited about these pretty cool cupcakes, and I think making these cupcakes made me miss Breaking Bad. If AMC ever comes across Kouzounas Kitchen, pretty please make more shows like that one!
