Lemon Rice Pilaf Recipe

Happy Wednesday foodies!! On today’s post, I wanted to share a super easy yet delicious lemon rice pilaf recipe that I have been making for years. 🙂

Rice is such a great ingredient because you can make many unique recipes! If you love lemon and olive oil then this recipe is for you.


Lemon Rice Pilaf Recipe 

‘The perfect side dish with any meal”


  • 2.5 tablespoons of Greek olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 white onion, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups of arborio rice
  • 1 1/4 cup of vegetable broth
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 lemons, reserve juice and 1 tsp of lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons of  dried dill
  • 2 tablespoons of dried basil
  • Sea salt & black pepper


  1. In a large saucepan add the olive oil, garlic, and white onions and saute for about 3 minutes on medium heat.
  2. Add the rice, and saute until rice turns translucent.
  3. Add the water, and broth to the rice and simmer for 10-12 minutes until liquid has evaporated.
  4. Remove pan from the stove, and add the lemons, zest, spices, salt, and pepper.
