My heart is heavy today as I write to you from my home in California. Greece has suffered one of the most TRAGIC wildfires in history! I don’t think anyone was prepared for this kind of tragedy especially to find out how many beautiful souls were taken from the fires in Greece. I have spoken to many of my friends in Athens and I wanted to share their thoughts below.
What can you do to help??
Many of my friends sent me heartwarming msgs the past few days and thank you!! The main question is “What can I do to help?” I created a list of items Greece needs at this time.
Donate blood in Greece. There are many various locations throughout Greece where you can donate and here is a link for more info.
The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco is kindly accepting donations. Checks should be made payable to: Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco, MEMO: Attica Fires Relief Fund, 245 Valencia Street, San Francisco, CA 94103.
**Please make sure when donating that the website you are using is legit. Sometimes you come across “websites” that are scammers. So do make sure you are donating to an official website.
If you can please share this post I would greatly appreciate it. I couldn’t sit at home and do absolutely nothing to help so I created my own donation page via our online store. All purchases made on our online storefront will go directly towards the wildfire fund. If you would like your name to be listed on my donation page please make a note. **Donations will be accepted until August 4th 2018.
