Chocolate Blackberry Mousse Recipe

Hello chocolate lovers!! Recently on Instagram I received a recipe request for blackberry desserts. I am a huge sucker for anything blackberry and chocolate so mousse it is. 🙂

These two ingredients are a match made in heaven! I did use a combination of nutella and dark chocolate for the ultimate rich chocolate mousse. I hope you enjoy as much as my family did.

Ingredients:

  • 6 ounces of semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup of nutella
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 cups of heavy whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla flavoring
  • 2 cups of fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup of organic sugar
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Method:

    1. In a medium saucepan combine the chocolate chips, nutella, and heavy whipping cream. Cook over medium heat until chocolates have melted. Whisk until smooth. Let mixture cool down a bit over a iced bath.
    2. In another small pan cook the blackberries with 1/4 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil then simmer for 5 minutes. (Strain mixture into a metal bowl to cool down.)  Whisk in the vanilla, powdered sugar, and sea salt.
    3. Fold the blackberry sauce into the chocolate mousse and combine.
    4. Prepare another iced water bath. Whisk mousse mixture until mixture cools down and holds shape.
    5. Spoon into serving bowls and chill for 1 day. Serve with fresh blackberries and whipped cream.
