New Week- Wellness Drinks

Happy weekend to you!
Wellness Drinks & More
Lately, I’ve found myself slipping—forgetting to include my superfoods, having a bit too much caffeine, not drinking enough water, or skipping out on veggies. Sound familiar? Either way, I’ve been trying to get back on track with a healthier routine.
A few months ago, I started a new health & wellness section and was so encouraged by the amazing feedback I received. I know many of us are still feeling the weight of everything we’ve been through during the pandemic, and energy can be hard to come by.
So, I thought—why not share two of my go-to lift-me-up wellness drinks with you? They’re made with ingredients most of us already have in our kitchens, and they’re super simple to whip up.
Enjoy—and let me know what you think if you try them!
Wellness Drinks (Mint & Lemon Water) & (Beet Ginger Juice) Recipes
Why Mint and Lemon Tonic?
Lemon is a powerhouse when it comes to detoxifying the body. It’s rich in vitamin C, acts as a natural anti-aging ingredient, and supports healthy digestion. Personally, after dealing with a kidney stone, I’ve made it a habit to add lemon to my water regularly—it’s a simple yet effective way to help prevent stones from forming again.
Mint, on the other hand, is not just refreshing—it’s a beautiful herb packed with benefits. It soothes digestion, reduces bloating, and can even help calm skin inflammation. Together, lemon and mint create a tonic that’s not only delicious and hydrating but also healing from the inside out.
Mint & Lemon Water Tonic Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 quart of filtered water
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 lemon, sliced
- A handful of fresh mint
Method:
- Combine all the ingredients in a large pitcher and then chill so the flavors combine. Serve with a handful of crushed ice and fresh mint, and lemon slices.
- Tips: You can make this with sparkling water, too! Add in lemon or lime.
Moving on to the tasty and colorful beet juice drink! Can I just say I ALWAYS enjoy photographing beets? I enjoy it so much that I have another beet recipe coming up this week.
Beet Ginger Lemon Juice Recipe
Beets are absolutely an amazing superfood! The benefits are very long and wide, but I will list just a few for you. Improving blood pressure, protecting the liver, packed with nutrients, and reducing inflammation.
Beet juice is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals! Some of them include copper, zinc, and folate. You can read more on beets and their benefits here.
Ingredients:
- 5 beets cooked, cut, and diced
- 1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/2 cup of filtered water
- Half of a lemon (juiced)
Method:
- Prepare the cooked beets, apple, and ginger.
- Place all ingredients into a juicer or blender. I prefer my juicer, but whatever you have available works. Blend until smooth.
- I like to chill my liquid before consumption, so I place juice inside a sealed container and let it chill for about 1 hour.
- Serve over ice!
**Please note that beets can dye your hands and countertops, so be careful. I know it’s TMI, but do keep in mind that beets can dye your urine, so don’t be alarmed if you see a darker color in your urine or stool.
I hope you enjoyed this fun wellness post! Please do let me know if you try the recipes. 🙂
