Just got done making fresh meatballs & spaghetti.
This is my families favorite recipe. I get super creative with this and add a million ingredients but hey it turns out pretty dang good. Try it out and see for yourself.
LET’S GET COOKING–
Ingredients:
Serves: 6
Meatballs:
I used 2 small packs of organic ground beef. (This makes about 10-12 large meatballs.)
3 garlic cloves minced
1 egg
one bunch of fresh basil- minced
2 tsp of oregano
3 tablespoons of olive oil
sea salt and ground pepper to taste
2 tsp of garlic salt
I used greek seasoning- 3 tsp
2 tsp of thyme
3 cans of stewed tomato sauce
1/2 cup of water
1/4 cup of red wine
1/4 cup of green onion- minced
1 can of tomato juice
1 tsp of honey
1/4 cup of parsley, minced
sea salt & ground pepper
Spaghetti- enough for 6
parmesan cheese
Directions-
In a large saucepan, place the tomato sauces all 4 with the water and boil on medium to high heat. Add in the green onion, parsley, and red wine. Let simmer for about 10 minutes. While the sauce is simmering, grab a medium size bowl. Add the meat, egg, olive oil, basil, garlic, oregano, garlic salt, thyme and greek seasoning. Mix with your hands and make sure everything is combined. Add in the salt and pepper to taste. Next get a plate, add about 2 cups of flour to the plate. Form each meat ball into a circle and roll the balls into the flour. Gently dust off the flour and add them into the tomato sauce. Cook the meatballs into the sauce for about 25- 30 minutes. (The sauce will thicken, and if you find it runny, you can always add 2 tsp of cornstarch with warm water. ) While the sauce is cooking, prepare the spaghetti. Use the directions on the spaghetti box. Drain pasta and set aside. Once the sauce is done, place pasta on plate and serve with meatballs and sauce. Then top it off with some good pecorino parmesan cheese. –~ Kali Orexi to you all.~
