Ancient Greek Diet

The names of foods, cooking methods, and basic ingredients have drastically changed over time. But certain foods still remain the same like, bread, olive oil, and wine.

The ancient Greeks had a very basic and healthy cuisine. The main ingredients included: wheat flour, honey, wine, olive oil, and fruit. Greece was ranked top to having a “fusion” cuisine dating back to 350 b.c.

Did You Know…

The very first cook book was written by a Greek food gourmet, Archestratos, in 330 B.C.
