Delicious 7 Layer Greek Dip Recipe

Hello foodies! How is the New Year treating you? I know I have been slacking a bit on the blog and I apologize. My health took a little bit of a turn recently and I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. I will go more into detail in the next post, but I haven’t been feeling my energetic self for a few months now. On Tuesday I have a CT scan which will check to make sure my liver is okay as levels were elevated. I am hoping I have good news coming up.

I want to do some NEW updates for Kouzounas Kitchen, but I am focusing on my new travel business these days; Travel Mazi Mou. I need to find balance and hopefully, the plan for 2024 is to do just that. Those of you who have been following the blog since day 1, thank you! I can’t believe Kouzounas Kitchen blog will be 11 years old soon. Where has the time gone? Many people asked me where the name came from. You can read about that here so you don’t confuse the name with the Greek word “Kouzina” which is kitchen. I still get Greeks asking me why I misspelled the word kitchen.. lol.

Time to cook something new! How about a twist on the traditional 7-layer dip? A Greek 7-layer dip it is. Combine the layers of spicy feta dip, hummus dip, chopped Kalamata layer, chopped green onions layer, grilled pepper layer, halved grape tomato layer, and chopped cucumber layer.

Let’s get to the cooking!!

7-layer Greek Dip Recipe

Serving: 6-8

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of hummus
  • 1  1/2 cups of spicy feta dip
  • 1/2 cup of halved grape tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of halved Kalamata olives
  • 1/4 cup of diced green onions
  • 1/2 cup of halved cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup of grilled peppers, (sliced or chopped)

Method:

If you want to make this recipe super quick you can use already-made ingredients such as hummus and spicy feta dip. Although I do have those two recipes right here for you too! I do want to add that I made pepper hummus hence why my hummus is an orangey color. But you can use any hummus you like.

Recipe for hummus dip

  1. Prepare all ingredients and set aside.
  2. Make sure you have your hummus and spicy feta dip ready. Once you have all the ingredients ready, let’s build the dip.
  3. On a large platter evenly spread out the hummus layer. Top the layer with spicy feta dip, making sure to evenly spread this out. Then add the Kalamata olives, green onions, cucumbers, and diced grilled peppers. Serve with freshly chopped dill or parsley over the top.
  4. Enjoy this dip with pita bread, vegetables, or crackers. You can find my pita bread recipe here.

I hope you enjoy it! Don’t forget to share this dip for the Super Bowl coming up on February 11th.
