Crème Brulee Anyone??

I ended up giving in to crème brulee. This time I made a low fat crème brulee. 🙂

Crème Brulee Recipe-

Prep Time- 10 minutes

Cook Time- 1 hour

Yields- 6

Ingredients:

6 egg yolks

3 cups of 2% milk- not cream

1/2 cup of white sugar

1 vanilla bean- scraped

Extra sugar for the top

Water

Directions:

Combine the egg yolks, 1/2 cup of sugar, vanilla bean, and whisk to combine. Place 6 ramekins in a baking dish and fill each ramekin with the egg mixture. Fill the baking dish half way with the water. (Making sure it covers half the ramekins.) Bake in the oven at 325 degrees or 165 C. Bake for about an hour or until the custard is set. Remove from the oven and take out of baking pan and cool. Once at room temperature, chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.

For the topping- The fun part!!!

Ingredients:

1 chef torch

1/2 cup of sugar

Sprinkle the sugar on top of the ramekin, and make sure the sugar is spread evenly. Carefully use the chef torch, and torch the sugar until it has caramelized.

Eat & enjoy! Kali Orexi!
