Chocolate Salami Recipe
Happy Tuesday my friends! I hope your week is way warmer than what we are having. We just got 10 inches of snow in Pollock Pines, and I am slowly adjusting to this freezing weather. 🙂 Soooo cold weather means lots of cooking.
Chocolate salami is definitely for the chocolate lovers. You might know this dessert as “kormos” in Greek meaning log because of the shape it resembles. Many of my Instagram friends requested this recipe, so this one is for YOU. 🙂

Chocolate Salami Recipe
The perfect treat to enjoy with coffee.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
- 2 plain biscotti, crushed (You can replace with 5 graham crackers)
- 5 tablespoons of unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- 1 large bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips (10 oz)
- 2 tablespoons of Nutella
- 1/4 cup of brewed coffee
- 2 teaspoons of orange zest (I used blood orange.)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring
- 1/2 cup of confectioners sugar
- Optional~ 1/4 cup chopped dried fruit (Apricot, mango, figs.)
Method:
- Place walnuts, almonds, and biscotti on a baking tray. Bake at 350 degrees until the nut mixture is lightly toasted.
- Add the nut mixture to a Cuisinart, and pulse until mixture is blended. (Resembles course sand.)
- Put the butter, chocolate chips, and Nutella into a double boiler and melt the chocolate.
- Stir in the coffee, orange zest, and vanilla. Mix until smooth, then remove from heat. (If you want to add in dried fruit, add it along with the orange zest.)
- Mix together the chocolate and nut mixture. Once mixture comes together, chill until mixture is solid. (Approximately 2 hours.)
- Place half the mixture onto plastic wrap and using your hands gently roll the mixture into a log. The best way to do this if you roll the plastic wrap back and forth to make a log shape. Repeat the process with the rest of the chocolate mixture. You should have 2 logs. Refrigerate the logs for 2 hours or until firm.
- On a large plate, spread out 1 cup of the confectioner sugar. Lightly roll the chocolate log into the sugar. Making sure to cover the entire log. Lightly brush off the excess sugar.
- Slice chocolate salami into 1/2 inch thick pieces, and serve with coffee. This is such the chocolate lovers treat.
