This is for all of you travelers!!!

I know many of my friends are headed to Greece this summer, and I thought I would give you a few tips on what to eat, and even a meal plan to banish jet lag.

Ohh yes the famous Jet lag!! You might not even know this, but those of you who travel quite frequently might be affected with memory loss and indigestion.

With that being said, I wanted to post a ideal menu plan for the travelers out there. First off, you should start by packing these sleep friendly vitamins- B vitamins, melatonin, and the amino acid tryptophan. These will all help you sleep on the plane, and when you wake up, you will feel refreshed.

Travelers Diet Plan-

Breakfast- Wake up to a banana, or oatmeal with a glass of milk. The cereal will give you a dose of melatonin, which will help you fall asleep when the lights go dim on the plane. The milks calcium and banana will help your body fill up its fuel.

Lunch- Try to eat some turkey with whole wheat bread and cottage cheese. These ingredients will give your body what it needs to make melatonin later.

Snack- Have some sweet apricots or low fat yogurt. The niacin in apricots will keep your melatonin going. The calcium in yogurt will help as well.

Dinner- Salmon, baked potato, and spinach salad will be the best dinner for you. You will consume b vitamins, carbohydrates, and tryptophan all in one plate. ( Plus you get an abundance of magnesium with the potato and spinach combined.)

Snack- Before you head to bed, try to find some cherries. Out of all of the fruits, they seem to have the most melatonin.

I hope this helps everyone who plans to travel this summer. Try this diet and tell me what you think. Spread the word to your family & friends who are planning on travelling.

Happy Friday!!
